The Weston Post

Weston was one of the first of five cities in Texas to have rural free delivery beginning March 15, 1900.

Named after Weston’s historic Post Office, The Weston Post newsletter supports civic engagement, promotes student writing, documents local history, and encourages families to stay abreast of community happenings in the Weston area. As of now, The Weston Post is available online below and on the City of Weston website. Print copies are available in Weston at the Texas flag newspaper stand in front of the Blue Door building on Main Street. Feel free to download and email this newsletter to all your Weston friends and family.

Do you know of a local story that should be covered? Do you want to submit a piece about local history or write about a cool farm project? Do you like drawing political cartoons or comics about farm life? Are you a student interested in journalism and want to cover local news? Want to contribute a Weston-themed coloring page? We would love to showcase the writing of local students and residents on topics of community significance.

Classroom Counterpoints and, by extension, The Weston Post is funded entirely by donations. If you are interested in contributing a tax-deductible donation to support this project, then please consider donating.
